Nothing captures an Iowa summer quite like fresh produce and homegrown goods—and in 2026, the Iowa State Fair Farmers Market returns, celebrating the very best from Iowa’s farmers and gardeners. Plus, the kids' only makers market competition is returning on the last day of the Fair.

Located near Gate 15, the Iowa State Fair Farmers Markets will be open from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. August 13-22, 2026. Fairgoers can shop for locally grown fruits and vegetables, fresh-cut flowers, jerky, handmade soaps and more.

On the last day of the Fair, Sunday, August 23, the Iowa State Fair will hold a Kids Makers Market, where kids ages 5 to 17 can enter to compete with their homemade products to win banners. Fairgoers can purchase products and watch the competition from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
