When can I buy cookie dough? December 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or whenever we sell out, whichever comes first!)

Can I pre-order cookie dough? Sorry, not this year. Cookie Dough is ONLY available for purchase on December 6 at the window of the Barksdale's State Fair Cookie Building on the Fairgrounds.

Is there a limit to how many bags of cookie dough I can buy per person? There is no limit on the number of bags each person can buy. 10 bags are in a case.

Where can I buy the cookie dough? At the Barksdale’s State Fair Cookie Building on Grand Avenue on the Iowa State Fairgrounds.

Where should I park for the pop-up? Park along Grand Avenue on the Iowa State Fairgrounds and walk to the Cookie Building!

Are there ADA options for parking? There will be accommodations for those with mobility needs. Please call 515-304-8274 for assistance.

Which entrance should I use? Drive in Gate 2 off of University Avenue and exit through Gate 11 or Gate 9.

What forms of payment are accepted? Cash and credit card will be accepted.

How long will the pop-up last? From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or whenever we sell out, whichever comes first!)

What happens if the cookie dough sells out? This is a one-time event; you can pre-purchase coupons for cups and buckets during the Fair. They make great gifts, too!

Can I buy cookie dough after the pop-up ends? We’ll have another cookie dough sale in fall 2026.

What flavors of cookie dough are available? Pre-portioned dough of the melt-in-your-mouth, Barksdale’s State Fair Chocolate Chip Cookies will be available to purchase.

How big is each bag/how many cookies does it make? 36 frozen, pre-portioned cookies are in each bag.

Is the cookie dough edible raw? No, this dough is meant to be cooked, for food safety purposes.

Does the cookie dough need to be kept frozen or refrigerated? The cookie dough will need to be kept frozen.

Will I need a cooler to transport it home? If you live a long distance from the Fairgrounds, we recommend bringing a cooler.

How long does the dough last once I take it home? Use by expiration date on the bag.

Are there any allergens (nuts, gluten, etc.) in the cookie dough? Cookie dough is produced on equipment that also processes products containing peanuts and tree nuts.
