Advanced Admission
Get your 2017 Fair tickets now and save over 30 percent. You can print your tickets at home or purchase them at the Administration Building on the Iowa State Fairgrounds between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (Monday – Friday).
- Adult tickets (ages 12+): $8 (thru August 9th); $12 (at the gates)
- Child tickets (ages 6-11): $4 (thru August 9th); $6 (at the gates)
- Ages 5 and under admitted free every Fair day
Beginning July 1 and while supplies last, advanced admission tickets will be available for purchase at participating Iowa HyVee, HyVee Drug, Fareway, Price Chopper and Cash Saver Stores.
Beginning July 5, admission tickets will be available at the Iowa State Fair Ticket Office, available without fees and while supplies last.
DISCOUNTED FAIR TIME ADMISSION
Fairgoers can save on gate admission by taking advantage of these special, at the gate only, admission offers. These offers are not good with any other discount.
Half Off Adult and Child Tickets After 5
Half price adult and child admission from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the gate Monday through Thursday.
Opening Day
On Thursday, August 10 bring 3 cans of non-perishable food for a $3 discount (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.) on an adult admission only.
Veterans' Day
On Monday, August 14, $9 admission (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.) for active and former members of the United States military and their spouses.
Older Iowans' Day
On Wednesday, August 16, $9 admission (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.) for Fairgoers ages 60 and older.
Extreme Sunday
Half off regular admission until 9 p.m. on Sunday, August 20.
advanced WRISTBANDS
Thrill Parks goes digital! Fairgoers can easily access rides and games simply by scanning their wristband. Reloadable wristbands allow thrill seekers access to all the rides and games in Thrill Town and Thrill Ville with a quick scan of their wristband. Guests can reload their wristbands anytime at one of the state-of-the art reload stations, at any of the Thrill Park booths on the Fairgrounds or online. Two advanced wristband offers are available pre-Fair but don’t worry if you miss the advanced wristband offers, you can still purchase your wristband at the Fair!

Good for 1 day of unlimited rides Monday-Thursday until 9:00 p.m. in Thrill Town or Thrill Ville. Does not include games, but credits can be added at Thrill Park booths on the Fairgrounds. The wristband is reloadable after 9:00 p.m. for more rides and games. One wristband per fairgoer for rides in Thrill Ville or Thrill Town.

Good any time of the Fair on any ride or game in Thrill Town and Thrill Ville. Wristband is reloadable at any Thrill Park booth at the Fair.
