Top Harmonica Players Win State Fair Awards

Captivating tunes and fine skills were on display in the Harmonica contest judged Monday, August 12, at the 2024 Iowa State Fair.

Craig Mackaman of Ankeny won first place in the Adult Division. Chris Myers of Boone and K.P. of Runnells tied for second place. Carol of Des Moines earned third place.

In the Youth Division, Gus Major of Des Moines won first place.

The contest was part of “Rural Americana Olde Tyme Competitions” in Farm Bureau Pioneer Hall. A first prize of $5 and ribbons were awarded to each class.
