Creative Cooks Use Their Noodles to Win State Fair Honors

Olivia Smith of Winterset won first place and a $100 gift card in the Mrs. Bonser’s Noodles Creations competition judged Saturday, August 12, at the 2023 Iowa State Fair.

Diane Rauh of Des Moines claimed second place and a $50 gift card. Cathy Stahlman of Boone earned third place and a $25 gift card.

Entries were judged on taste.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There are 138 divisions, 695 classes and over 6,800 entries at this year’s Fair. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center.
