The top confectionary constructors were put to the test in the Gingerbread House competition judged Sunday, August 14, at the 2022 Iowa State Fair.

In the professional class, Alisa Woods of Des Moines won first place and a $100 cash award.

Entries were judged on structural integrity, creative design and attention to detail, and all of the components and decorations used in the construction of the homes were to be edible.
