Rod Zeitler of Iowa City won First and Third Places Overall and the Sweepstakes award in the Fleet Farm Canned Fruits competition, judged Tuesday, prior to the start of the 2021 Iowa State Fair.

Jacqueline Riekena of West Des Moines won Second Place Overall. Riekena and Michelle Westphal of Waterloo tied for Reserve Sweepstakes honors.

Entries were judged on appearance, selection of products and food safety.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There are 134 divisions, 603 classes and nearly 6500 entries at this year's Fair. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Urban Air.
