Youth Claims Back to Back State Fair Duck Calling Award

Contestants put their waterfowl calling skills to the test in the Duck Calling Contest, judged Thursday, August 8, at the 2024 Iowa State Fair.

Brody Steenblock of Panora won first place in the youth division for the second year in a row. Reagan Westercamp of Oskaloosa earned second place and Tate Hoffman of Pleasantville took third place.

Mark Mendick of Moulton won first place in the adult division.

The contest was part of “Rural Americana Olde Tyme Competitions” in Farm Bureau Pioneer Hall. A first prize of $5 and ribbons were awarded to each class.
