Youth Whistling

Participants from ages 5 to 16 impressed the judges at the Youth Whistling Contest on August 18 at the 2022 Iowa State Fair.

Rowan Cornelius, 8, of Bondurant, whistled to first place.

Lillian Jacobson, 14, of West Des Moines, won second place.

Preston Ford, 12, of West Chester, and Riley Goodrich, 10, of Urbandale tied for third place.

The contest was part of “Rural Americana Olde Tyme Competitions” in Farm Bureau Pioneer Hall. A first prize of $5 and ribbons were awarded to each class.
