Chocolate Raspberry – What a Way to Go!

Ann Gillotti of Ankeny won first place and a $60 cash award in the Death by Chocolate Raspberry competition judged Monday at the 2018 Iowa State Fair.
Brain Keul of West Des Moines earned second place and $30. Susan Schultz of Haverhill claimed third place and $10.
Participants were tasked to create an award worthy dessert that included chocolate and raspberries.
Entries were judged on taste, creativity and presentation.
The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There are 171 divisions, 727 classes and over 9,574 entries at this year’s Fair. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny Ice Cream.
