Homemakers Furniture Grandstand Concert Series - Kum & Go Stage
Opening night of the 2022 Iowa State Fair will feature alternative Christian band Skillet on August 11, 2022. Since 1996, Skillet has struck a balance between metalfest headliners and the worship band stage with hard-charging anthems. Their 2022 concert at the Iowa State Fair will be their first appearance at the Fair.

Skillet has embodied rock 'n' roll's evolution since day one. Selling more than 12 million albums worldwide to date, they've earned over a dozen RIAA certifications in recognition of gold, platinum or multiplatinum status. With hits like "Awake & Alive," "Hero" and Monster to their credit, Skillet took the global pandemic of 2020 head collaborating over Zoom to produce Victorious: The Aftermath, the deluxe edition album. They continue to "push the rebellion" with their newly released songs, including "Refuge" in December 2021 and title track "Dominion" on January 7, 2022.
Dante Bowe has gone from homeless to a chart-topping singer and award-winning songwriter in just three short years. Dante is quoted as saying, "I love that music can find a way to inspire change."
