Fair time camping
Registered campers are those who have a permanent spot every year during the Iowa State Fair. These campers have mailed in a form to be placed on our waitlist and after many years were granted a permanent spot.
Will I lose my camping spot if I haven’t paid yet? Don’t worry! Your reserved camping spot is secure for 2021 because the Fair is postponed.
What if I’ve already paid for my reserved camping spot for the 2020 Iowa State Fair and purchased admission, wristbands or Fair Value Packs? We apologize for the inconvenience and we will miss you in the campgrounds this year. Please use theform to request a refund or gift your fees to the Fair by July 15, 2020. Your camping AND your other products (admission, wristbands, and Fair Value Packs) will be handled together and cannot be refunded or gifted separately. For questions, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 515-401-1513.
Are the campgrounds still open for camping? Our campgrounds are open for off-season camping. For more information visit: https://www.iowastatefairgrounds.org/camping/off-season-camping/.
Non-Registered campers are those that want a permanent spot, but have not received one yet. These campers will need to mail in a form every year to gain seniority. Camping at the Fair is a popular tradition for many families and some have been on the waiting list for 20 years, so please be patient!
Fair time camping is a great way to enjoy the fun and festivities of Iowa’s biggest celebration! Every August, thousands of Fairgoers from all over the Midwest park their campers and pitch their tents during the Fair. Whether it’s a vacation or a family reunion, stop and see why Nothing Compares to the Iowa State Fair. Information for the 2020 Fair will be posted in the summer.
Accommodations for tents can always be made if campers are not particular on placement. Tent campers follow the same procedures as other campers.
