The Iowa State Fair has a number of Request for Proposals listed each year.

Concessions and Kitchen Remodeling
Varied Industries Building, Iowa State Fairgrounds

The lowa State Fair Board will receive sealed bids for the Concessions and Kitchen Remodeling project, Varied lndustries Building, lowa State Fairgrounds, Des Moines, lowa, until 2:00 pm local time on Thursday, 20 August 2026, at the office of KEDbluestone Engineering, 5518 NW 88th St, Johnston, lowa.

The Work is a 2,214 SF interior renovation of an existing concessions and kitchen area, bid as six separate prime contracts: CVI 2500-1 Kitchen Equipment; CVI 2500-2 General Construction; CVI 2500-3 Mechanicat and Plumbing; CVI 25OO-4 Electrical/Data/Telephone; CVI 2500-5 Sectional and Coiling Doors; and CVI 2500-6 Floor Finishes. Bidders may submit bids on one or more Contracts. Submit a separate Bid Form and Bid Guarantee for each Contract bid; do not combine bids for more than one Contract on a single form.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the Project site, 3000 E Grand Ave, Des Moines, lowa, at 3:30 pm local time on Tuesday, 11 August 2026. Attendance is required of all Bidders. Cost estimates for each Contract will be provided at the meeting.

Bidding documents are available after 5 August 2026 from lowa Reprographics, 3 College Ave, Des Moines, lowa, 515-244-5705, www.iowarepro.com. Printed documents require a deposit of $200 or a current MBI Plan Deposit Card.

Action on bids is anticipated to be taken by the lowa State Fair Board no later than 1 September 2026. The estimated total cost of construction is $2,000,000. Construction may commence on or after 15 September 2026, and the Work shall be completed no later than 15 April 2027.
