Reed Stonebraker of Rockwell won top honors in the ages 4-16 Turkey Calling Contest judged Thursday at the 2019 Iowa State Fair.
Lauren Keller of Gladbrook claimed second place and third place went to Olivia Dresser of Ankeny.
In the 17 and over division, David Kerr of Des Moines claimed his spot at the top.
Randy Merkel of Independence took second place and Aaron Harbeson of Leon stood in third place.
The contest was part of “Rural Americana Olde Tyme Competitions” in Farm Bureau Pioneer Hall. A first prize of $5 and ribbons were awarded to each class.
The Iowa State Fair is one of the oldest and largest agricultural and industrial expositions in the country and the single largest event in the state.
