Kids Wow the Judges with Mom Calls

Kids took the challenge in the Mom Calling Contest that took place on Friday, August 18, at the 2023 Iowa State Fair.

In the 5 to 9 age category, Olivia Towey of Des Moines took the first place spot. Brooks Bailey of Des Moines received second place, and Shane DeZwarte of Knoxville claimed third place.

In the 10 to 15 age category, Brendon Schomer of Des Moines took first place in the Mom Calling Contest. Dominic Novelo of New Sharon took second place and Addi Denekas of Kamrar took third place.

The contest was part of “Rural Americana Olde Tyme Competitions” in Farm Bureau Pioneer Hall. A first prize of $5 and ribbons were awarded to each class.
