Jefferson Cook Wins State Fair Chicken and Noodles Blue Ribbon

Marianne Carlson of Jefferson won first place and a $200 cash award in the Tribute to Bessie Chicken and Noodles competition judged Saturday, August 11, at the 2018 Iowa State Fair.
Cheryl Rogers of Ankeny earned second place and $100. Terri Treft of Sioux City claimed third place and $50.
Entries were judged on taste, appearance and creativity.
The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There are 171 divisions, 727 classes and over 9,574 entries at this year’s Fair. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny Ice Cream.
