Indianola Cooks Does “Fairly” Well In Unique Cooking Contest

Amy Fuson of Indianola won first place and a $100 cash award in the Fair Delicious competition judged Thursday at the 2018 Iowa State Fair.
Linda Anderson of Urbandale earned second place and a $50 cash award. Bridget Lottman of Norwalk claimed third place and $25.
Entrants accepted the challenge to create a recipe using one food item purchased from any food vendor at the Fair as the main ingredient.
Entries were judged on best use of a Fair food as the main ingredient.
The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There are 171 divisions, 727 classes and over 9,574 entries at this year’s Fair. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny Ice Cream.
