High stakes strategy was on display in the Backgammon Tournament held Saturday, August 10, at the Iowa State Fair.
Matt Beauchamp of Round Rock, TX won first place in the More Experienced division. Scott Hendersen of Winterset took second place and John Kalachnik of Johnston earned third place.
In the Less Experienced division, Tony Corson of Fort Worth, TX won first place. Lisa Rivers of Clive claimed second place and Mona Jones of Beaumont, TX claimed third place.
The Iowa State Fair is one of the oldest and largest agricultural and industrial expositions in the country and the single largest event in the state. The Fair began over 160 years ago and is now considered one of the best events in the nation, attracting more than one million Fairgoers every year from all over the world.
