Food - King Arthur Baking Company Yeast Roll Contest

Jeffrey King of Newton won First Place Overall and a $200 gift card in the King Arthur Baking Company Yeast Roll contest, judged Thursday, August 18, at the 2022 Iowa State Fair.

Belinda Myers of Osceola earned Second Place Overall and a $150 gift card. Robin Tarbell-Thomas of Centerville claimed Third Place Overall and a $75 gift card.

Marianne Carlson of Jefferson won the Sweepstakes Award, and Nancy Johnson of Story City won the Reserve Sweepstakes Award.

Entries were judged on flavor, appearance and texture.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There are 128 divisions, 615 classes and nearly 6,300 entries at this year's Fair. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Urban Air Adventure Park.
