The Iowa State Fair Grandstand on Saturday, August 21, 2021 will now feature headliners Dan + Shay, who step in to replace Keith Urban, who had to cancel his show due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict. Special guest Russell Dickerson will remain the opener. Anyone who purchased Keith Urban tickets through the official Iowa State Fair ticket vendor, e-tix, will receive an automatic refund. Current ticket holders will also receive a priority code to purchase tickets if Keith Urban is rescheduled for a future Fair date.

Fresh off their GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for the third consecutive year, Dan + Shay have garnered multiple GRAMMY, CMA, ACM, American Music, and Billboard Music Award wins and nominations. The duo took home a second consecutive GRAMMY for Best Country Duo/Group Performance earlier this year (2020 – “Speechless,” 2019 – “Tequila”) and have surpassed 6.5 billion career streams. They most recently swept their American Music Awards categories, winning all three including Collaboration of the Year, making them the first country artist to ever win said category.

With more than 1.4 billion global streams, their multi-week No. 1 hit “10,000 Hours” (with Justin Bieber) became the biggest first-week streaming total in country music history and was the fastest country song to reach one million U.S. track equivalents in 2019, earning over 3.5 million U.S. track equivalents to date. “10,000 Hours” is the first song by a country duo or group ever to debut in the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 5 and spent 21 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on Hot Country Songs (4th longest of all time). The worldwide smash has achieved 4x Platinum certification in Canada, 3x Platinum in Australia and the U.S., Platinum in the Netherlands and Gold in four other countries. Dan + Shay and Justin Bieber made the world television premiere performance of the song on the 54th CMA Awards, where the duo was also named Duo of the Year for the second consecutive year. “10,000 Hours” has also been named Top Country Song at the Billboard Music Awards and Best Lyrics at the iHeart Radio Music Awards.

Their Platinum-certified self-titled album included global hit “Tequila" (6x Platinum and more than 1.1 billion global streams), multi-format hit “Speechless” (4x Platinum and nearing 1 billion global streams), and No.1 country song “All To Myself" (2x Platinum). In the seven years since they formed, Dan + Shay have accumulated 33 total RIAA certifications and achieved seven No. 1 singles at country radio.

The duo most recently released two original holiday songs “Take Me Home For Christmas” and “Christmas Isn’t Christmas.” Their latest single “I Should Probably Go To Bed” was most-added at country radio upon impact and achieved more than 144 million streams globally in four months, with the music video claiming Duo Video of the Year at the CMT Awards. With its “heavenly mix of vocal harmonies and sweeping strings” (Rolling Stone), it is approaching Top 5 at country radio, reached No.1 on the Country Digital Songs Sales chart and garnered the duo’s highest first-week equivalents for a duo-only release.
