The Band Perry
It didn’t take The Band Perry long to make their mark on country music. Since their self-titled debut album in 2010, the Grammy-nominated group has climbed the charts with hits like “Hip to My Heart,” “If I Die Young” and “All My Life.” The album went platinum and they’ve garnered numerous awards like Top New Artist from the Academy of Country Music and Song of the Year from the Country Music Association.
Siblings Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry inherited a cross-pollinated love of country and rock & roll from their parents. "Daddy rocked us to sleep with the Rolling Stones; Mama woke us up with Loretta Lynn. So we get it honest," says Kimberly.
When talking about The Band Perry, each member of the trio stresses how much family figures into the mix: "There's a tightness between the three of us that goes way beyond even best friends," Neil explains. "Family vocal harmonies can't be fabricated. And, besides - the three of us know that through the thick and thin of life and the music business, we're watching after each other."
“With all of our likenesses though,” Kimberly adds, “I believe it's our distinctions that stir up the magic when we create. When the three of us sit down to write songs together, we pull from all of our individual perspectives and happenstances to create the most interesting song concoctions."
Easton Corbin
Easton Corbin’s songs, while rooted in the present, call to mind simpler times when the back porch was where folks gathered to network. Steel guitars and fiddles are as much a part of his sound as his baritone drawl.
His first single, “A Little More Country Than That” paints a picture of rural life that speaks to Easton’s small town sensibilities. “Even though I didn’t write it, this song identifies who I am,” he says. “It shows character and that’s important where I’m from. You learn to say ‘yes, ma’am’ and ‘no, sir,’ and to open the door for the ladies.”
Other tracks show different segments of life, from pure and simple love songs like “The Way Love Looks” to “Roll With It,” which speaks to the important things in life like sunsets and pick-up trucks, while the tender “I Can’t Love You Back” has a universal message of loss.
