  • Rascal Flatts

If any act embodies the place to which country music has evolved in the new century, it is Rascal Flatts. Since their inception in 1999, the trio has helped change the face of popular music. Their trademark sound – Gary LeVox's powerfully emotive lead vocals coupled with the soaring harmonies of Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney – has made the band the standard bearers for cutting-edge country.

Drawing on Nashville's best tunesmiths and their own enviable songwriting skills, they have released, in songs like "These Days," "Bless The Broken Road," "What Hurts The Most" and "Take Me There," some of the most important and successful music to come out of Nashville in recent years.

Along the way, they have placed 11 #1 singles and 20 Top 10 hits, seen every one of their studio albums go multi-platinum, and have become the most awarded vocal group in country music history with total sales at 20 million. In 2009, Flatts broke Alabama’s streak of ACM Vocal Group of The Year wins when they took home the trophy for the seventh consecutive time.

    Little Big Town

Little Big Town’s latest album, “The Reason Why” demonstrates the band’s willingness to break new musical ground. The four musicians demonstrate their creative hunger and renewed energy on every track, from the heartland country rock of the title cut to the groovy mountain soul of lead single "Little White Church" to the stone country in the ballad "Can't Have Everything."

"The harmony is the common thread through the record," notes Karen Fairchild. "It's always going to be about the harmony. It doesn't matter if the textures behind us on the record change. We're always trying to do something different, not just for the fans, but for us to be inspired."

And clearly they’ve inspired fans as well, selling over 1.5 million records and garnering three Grammy nominations, including a nomination for album of the year, in addition to numerous CMA and ACM nominations.

    Eli Young Band

It’s a crazy-good story. The Eli Young Band—four musicians who met during their college days in Texas—is now 11 years into a career built on touring without a single lineup change. That dedication is paying off big-time as the band enjoys a crazy new level of success. They sell a crazy amount of tickets. Get a crazy amount of airplay. And are selling a crazy amount of downloads—EYB is on the verge of its first Gold single for the aptly named “Crazy Girl.”

Penned by fellow artist Lee Brice and Nashville songwriter Liz Rose (“You Belong With Me”), “Crazy Girl” is a perfect introduction to “Life At Best,” a 14-track album that takes the band’s wide-ranging multi-genre influences and distills them into a focused, engaging vision: edgy country with hints of heartland rock bands such as Tom Petty and classic Eagles.

Their last album, “Jet Black & Jealous,” debuted at number 5 on the Billboard Country Albums chart in 2008 even though the group had never made the Top 10 through radio play at that point in its career. One title from that project, “Always The Love Songs,” provided that Top 10 breakthrough while the group earned critical acclaim and nabbed a nomination from the Academy of Country Music for Top New Vocal Group of the Year.

    Edens Edge

When it comes to making great music, kindred spirits somehow seem to find each other and such is the case with Edens Edge. Three talented young musicians from Arkansas -- Hannah Blaylock, Dean Berner, and Cherrill Green --make their debut with a vibrant sound that honors country music’s roots while creatively pushing the envelope with their seasoned musicianship, dazzling harmonies and insightful songwriting.

Blaylock co-wrote the trio’s first single, “Amen” drawing from her rural experiences. “We all grew up in small towns and in Arkansas there is a church on every corner,” Hannah says. “Amen” is a fresh depiction of a small town love story. Everybody knows everybody else and gossip gets around and it paints a picture of that small town where two people fall in love.”

Music has taken the young members of Edens Edge on an intriguing journey and they are thankful for the ride. “We’ve really grown up together and we’ve moved here and created a life together and I think that kind of history is organic,” says Berner. “We came together naturally-- just for the purpose of having fun and playing music. Part of the chemistry is we’re all doing something that we love together.”
