With their trademark blend of rock, pop, soul and funk, Rare Earth wows audiences with classic 70s hits like “Get Ready” and “I Just Want to Celebrate.”
Beginning life as “The Sunliners,” Rare Earth got its start on the club circuit in Detroit and adopted their current name in 1968. After signing with Motown Records, the band released nine albums in a ten year period and garnered nine hit singles, five of which were in the Top Twenty.
Rare Earth has performed thousands of concerts throughout the years and has been featured on television programs such as “The Ed Sullivan Show” and three times on “Dick Clark’s American Bandstand.” They were also the first band to perform live on the initial broadcast of the classic “Midnight Special” television show instead of lip-synching to pre-recorded tracks. |
