Young Cooks Earn Ribbons in State Fair Contest

Young cooks donned aprons and took to the kitchen to whip up delicious dishes in the Kids in the Kitchen Competition judged Saturday at the 2011 Iowa State Fair.
Lucas Kozak of Carlisle won First Place Overall with Pumpkin Pecan Loaves. Lucas Burr of Iowa City took Second Place Overall with Fruit Sushi, and Third Place Overall went to Emily Polson of Ankeny for her Hearty Hamburger Soup.
Entries were judged on taste, appearance and originality.
