Winning Entry Melts Judges Hearts in Fair Velveeta Contest

One of the great American kitchen icons served as the key ingredient in the Kraft Kreations with Velveeta competition, judged Friday at the 2011 Iowa State Fair.
Kyle Barton of West Des Moines won First Place Overall with Jalapeno Velveeta Crab and Lobster Soup.
Cheryl Rogers of Ames took Second Place Overall with Mac 'N Cheese a la Mom, and Sue Olson of Des Moines earned Third Place Overall for Macaroni and Cheese Dijon.
Competitors were challenged to use the cheese in an award-winning entrée, soup or side dish.
Entries were judged on taste, best use of Velveeta, appearance and originality.
