Urbandale Resident Places First with Pickles in State Fair Contest

Daphane Trevillyan of Urbandale placed first in Gedney Picklicious Pickles contest judged Saturday at the 2011 Iowa State Fair.
Des Moines resident Barb Benoit placed second, and Molly Thomas of Centerville earned third place in the competition.
Recipes were required to use pickle products as the main ingredient. Entries were judged on taste and originality.
The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny.
