Urbandale Baker Claims State Fair Pumpkin Pie Title

Entrants in the Pumpkin Pie competition, judged Saturday at the 2011 Iowa State Fair, were challenged to bake an award-winning fall dinner table favorite.
Emily Elliott of Urbandale won first place while Peggy Hutchins of Linden earned second place. hristine Montalvo of Windsor Heights took third place.
The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. Food Department judging is held in the recently-renovated Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny.
