Two Sprouts to Perform at State Fair Talent Search Championship

Three talented Sprout division acts (ages 2-12) have been selected to perform during the Championship round of Bill Riley’s 52nd annual Iowa State Fair Talent Search. Each act will perform in exhibition on Sunday, August 21, but will no longer be competing.
The names, ages, hometowns and routines of the acts are:
Jenna Knaack, 13, Alycen Knaack, 12, Payton Stover, 10, Mapleton, Tap Trio
Kilie Akers, 11, Mediapolis, Tap Acro
Riley Houde, 10, Mitchellville, Vocal solo
The winning acts will perform in the talent-packed championship set for Sunday, August 21, at 1:30 p.m. on the Anne and Bill Riley Stage sponsored by Pepsi. Bill Riley, Jr. is once again hosting the competition.
Casey’s General Stores will present each of the Sprout Champions with a prize of $250 after the Championship Show. Casey’s General Stores will award more than $15,000 to the Senior and Sprout divisions combined.
“Nothing Compares” to the 2011 Iowa State Fair, celebrating 100 years of the Butter Cow August 11-21. The Fairgrounds are located at East 30th and East University Avenue, just 10 minutes east of downtown Des Moines, and are open 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. each day of the Fair. Exhibit hours may vary.
