Top Shropshire Sheep Awarded at Iowa State Fair

Top sheep breeders competed for honors in the Shropshire Sheep show judged Thursday, August 18 at the 2011 Iowa State Fair.
Dalton Hicks of Stillwater, Okla. showed both the Champion and Reserve Champion Ewes, as well as the Reserve Champion Ram. Hicks also placed third in the Premier Exhibitor contest.
SS Shrops of Davenport exhibited the Champion Ram and took first place in the Premier Exhibitor contest.
WEG Shropshires and I-80 Flocks of Geneva, Neb. placed second in the Premier Exhibitor contest.
The Premier Exhibitor award is given to the exhibitor who scores the most points based upon class placings during the breed’s show.
