Sweet Victory for Runnells Cook in State Fair Chocolate Contest

Cristen C. Clark of Runnells won first place and a $150 cash award in the Ghirardelli Chocolate Championship competition judged Wednesday at the 2011 Iowa State Fair.
Marianne Carlson of Jefferson earned second place. Ann Carter of Carlisle took third place.
Entries were judged on chocolate taste, creativity, appearance and ease of preparation.
The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny.
“Nothing Compares” to the 2011 Iowa State Fair, celebrating 100 years of the Butter Cow August 11-21.
