Super Cook wins Fair Soups, Stews and Chilis Contest

Participants in the Soups, Stews and Chilis with Mrs. Clark’s Foods competition, judged Sunday at the 2011 Iowa State Fair, were challenged to create a unique and award-winning dish.
Linda Galvin of Ames won first place and a $50 cash award.
Lonnie Hartstack of Clarinda claimed second place, and Cathy Stahlman of Ames took third place.
Entries were judged on taste, best use of Mrs. Clark’s products and appearance.
“Nothing Compares” to the 2011 Iowa State Fair, celebrating 100 years of the Butter Cow August 11-21. The Fairgrounds are located at East 30th and East University Avenue, just 10 minutes east of downtown Des Moines, and are open 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. each day of the Fair. Exhibit hours may vary.
