Snickerdoodles Snatch Win at Iowa State Fair

Hannah McCoy of Hartford took first place in the Snickerdoodles contest judged Saturday at the 2011 Iowa State Fair. McCoy was awarded two tubs of cookie dough for her blue ribbon-worthy efforts.
Jenny Petersen of Knoxville received second place honors, and Sidney Miller of Indianola took third. Both received a tub of cookie dough for their tasty cookies. An honorable mention was given to Gia Capristo of Urbandale.
The contest was open to youth ages 7 to 15.
The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny.
“Nothing Compares” to the 2011 Iowa State Fair, celebrating 100 years of the Butter Cow August 11-21.
