Smooth Cooks Win State Fair Nutella Awards

Robin Carmen of Des Moines won first place in the Nutella Desserts competition judged Saturday at the 2011 Iowa State Fair.
Kenzie Piper of Waukee claimed second place, and Diane Rauh of Des Moines earned third place. Judges also awarded an honorable mention to Brenda Becker of Pella.
Nutella is a hazelnut spread that contains a hint of cocoa. Entries were judged on taste.
The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. Food Department judging is held in the recently-renovated Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny.
