Skilled Seamstress Has Judges “Hooked” in State Fair Rug Contest

West Des Moines resident Maggie Crabb won Best of Show honors in the Fabric and Threads Hooked Rugs contest judged prior to the start of the 2011 Iowa State Fair. Ames’s Marie Schropp won the prestigious Sweepstakes award.
All Fabric and Threads entries will remain on display throughout the Fair on the upper level of the William C. Knapp Varied Industries Building, sponsored by Principal Financial Group, open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
