Saucy Runnells Cook Wins State Fair Dipping Sauce Title

Cristen C. Clark of Runnells bested the competition to win first place in the Best Dipping Sauce Ever competition judged Friday at the 2011 Iowa State Fair.
Natalie Ridgway of Johnston claimed second place and Anita Van Gundy of Des Moines took third place.
Judges also awarded Kyle Barton of West Des Moines an honorable mention.
Entries were judged on creativity, taste and appearance.
The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny.
“Nothing Compares” to the 2011 Iowa State Fair, celebrating 100 years of the Butter Cow August 11-21.
