Johnston Woman Named Overall Winner in State Fair Cookie Contest

Natalie Ridgway of Johnston took home two blue ribbons and First Place Overall in the O Come All Ye Cookies contest judged Saturday at the 2011 Iowa State Fair. Ridgway won first in both the Christmas Cookie Plate and the Other Holiday Cookie Plate divisions.
Brenda Becker of Pella earned second place in both divisions. In the Other Holiday Cookie Plate division, Deirdre Scott of West Des Moines placed third, and Laura Larson of Des Moines earned an honorable mention.
The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny.
