Jim Woodsmall of Johnston won first place and a $100 savings bond in the Cooking with Cookies’ Sauces and Seasonings – A Cookies Creation competition judged Friday at the 2012 Iowa State Fair.
Kyle Barton of West Des Moines won second place and a $50 bond, and Mick Wise of Des Moines claimed third place and a $25 bond.
Entries were judged on taste, creativity and appearance.
The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. Food Department judging is held in theElwellFamilyFoodCentersponsored by Blue Bunny.
