Marianne Carlson of Jefferson won first place and a $200 cash prize in the Best Al Fresco Chicken Sausage competition judged Friday at the 2012 Iowa State Fair.
Jenna Brady of Runnells took second place and a $100 prize. Lonnie Hartstack of Clarinda earned third place and a $75 prize.
Entries were judged on taste and presentation.
The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. Food Department judging is held in theElwellFamilyFoodCentersponsored by Blue Bunny.
