Iowa Youth Square Off In Checkers Tournament at State Fair

Andrew Ehler, 12, of Urbandale took first and second place went to Miles McGlothlen, 8, of Ankeny in the ages 6 to12 division of the Youth Checkers tournament held Friday at the 2011 Iowa State Fair.
Olga (no last name given), 16, of Collins, won the ages 13 to18 division while Kyle Drilling, 18, of Riceville took second.
“Nothing Compares” to the 2011 Iowa State Fair, celebrating 100 years of the Butter Cow August 11-21. The Fairgrounds are located at East 30th and East University Avenue, just 10 minutes east of downtown Des Moines, and are open 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. each day of the Fair. Exhibit hours may vary.
