Indianola Woman Takes Title in Pasta Competition at State Fair

New versions of traditional dishes thrilled the judges in the Barilla Pasta and Sauce competition judged Sunday at the 2011 Iowa State Fair.
Lana Ross of Indianola won First Place Overall with Bacon-Cheese Stuffed Shells. Nancy Kelinson of Des Moines took Second Place Overall with Mediterranean Pasta Salad, and Emily Elliot of Urbandale claimed Third Place Overall with Blue Cheese Macaroni Salad.
Entrees were judged on taste, appearance, creativity and best use of Barilla products.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny.
