Diana Barker of Indianola captured top honors in the Ladies’ Chicken Calling contest judged Thursday at the 2012 Iowa State Fair. Second place went to Cindy Veldhuizen ofFairfield.
Barker, who bested 26 other competitors, impressed judges with her expert calling skills and was awarded a ribbon as well as $5 for her efforts.
The contest was part of “Rural Americana Olde Tyme Competitions” in Farm Bureau Pioneer Hall.
