Indianola Cook Sweeps Competition in Banana Bread Contest at Iowa State Fair

Marjorie Rodgers of Indianola swept the competition, winning First and Second Places Overall in the Chiquita Banana Bread contest, judged Thursday at the 2011 Iowa State Fair.
Rodgers secured first place in both the Banana Bread (no nuts) and Banana Nut Bread categories with Best-Ever Banana Bread and Banana Macadamia Nut Bread, respectively.
Third Place Overall went to Mary Sailer of Manning for her Banana Nut Bread.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny.
