Haverhill Resident Takes First in Food Competiton at State Fair

Susan Schultz of Haverhill placed first in the Old Threshers Family Reunion contest judged Saturday at the 2011 Iowa State Fair.
Audubon resident Robert Jensen took second in the competition, and Hester Derscheid of Ellston placed third.
Contestants were asked to make a dish using ingredients common to old-fashioned foods. Entries were judged on taste and appearance.
The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny.
