Food Creations Impress Judges in Special Needs Cook-Off at State Fair

Debbie Larsen of Des Moines took First Place Overall in the Special Needs Cook-Off judged Saturday at the 2011 Iowa State Fair. Larsen's Nacho Cheese Tortellini earned first place in the Entrée division before securing top honors.
Second Place Overall went to Sara Goff of Windsor Heights. Goff's Peanut Butter Cookies also took first place in the Desserts category. Taking Third Place Overall and second place in the Desserts division, Emma Goff, also of Windsor Heights, impressed judges with her sugar cookies.
Third place in the Desserts category went to Buphie Trevillyan of Urbandale.
The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny.
