Cameryn Clifton of Ankeny won first place in the Kids' Edible Egg Decorating contest judged Tuesday at the 2012 Iowa State Fair.
Second place was awarded to Cassedy Clifton of Ankeny, and Olivia Blanchard of Indianola took third. Maggie Blanchard of Indianola received an Honorable Mention.
The contest was open to youth ages 5 to 11. Judging was based on creativity, use of materials, appearance and use of edible objects.
The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny.
“Nothing Compares” to the 2012 Iowa State Fair, August 9-19.
