Ruth Taylor of Des Moines won First Place Overall in the Allspice Snack Mix competition judged Tuesday at the 2012 Iowa State Fair.
The primary ingredients in each entry were to be corn, wheat or rice squares, rye chips, bread sticks, pretzels, nuts and crackers. There was no limit to the type of seasonings used in each entry.
Entries were judged on taste, appearance and snack-ability.
