Cooking and Crafting Combined Awards Top Honors in Cookie Jar Contest at State Fair

Lauren Trujillo of Earlham was awarded first place in the adult division of A Cookie Jar for the Marines, judged Thursday at the 2011 Iowa State Fair.
Molly Cummings of Center Point claimed first place in the youth division of the contest.
Contestants were required to decorate a cookie jar for the Marines and fill it with at least three different kinds of cookies.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. Food Department judging is held in the recently-renovated Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny.
