Emma Whitlock of Indianola secured top honors in the Create Your Best Cold Pasta Salad contest judged Friday at the 2012 Iowa State Fair.
Whitlock took first place and was awarded a $50 gift card and a basket.
Dianne Caron-Smith of Winterset took second place, and Connie Schaffe-Sherman of Des Moines won third place.
Entries were judged on nutrition, taste and appearance.
The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. Food Department judging is held in theElwellFamilyFoodCentersponsored by Blue Bunny.
