Ames Cook Not Sheepish in State Fair Lamb Cooking Win

Cheryl Rogers of Ames won first place in the Cooking with Lamb competition judged Saturday at the 2011 Iowa State Fair.
Lisa Dekowski of Cedar Rapids earned second place, and Sarah Stallman of West Des Moines claimed third place.
An honorable mention was given to Lynn Jeffers of Jesup.
Entries were judged on taste, creative use of lamb, ease of preparation and appearance.
The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. Food Department judging is held in the recently-renovated Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny.
